Minnesota Timberwolves President of Basketball Operations Gersson Rosas announced today that head coach Chris Finch has signed a multiyear contract extension. The team did not disclose the terms of the deal.

Finch, 52, led the Timberwolves to a 16-25 record in his first season with the team after taking over in February 2021. He was previously an assistant coach for the Denver Nuggets and New Orleans Pelicans.

"Chris has done an outstanding job with our team," Rosas said in a statement. "He has helped us develop a winning culture and has our players playing with great passion and energy. We are excited to have him lead our team for the long term."

Finch said he was excited to continue working with the Timberwolves.

"I am grateful to Gersson and the entire Timberwolves organization for giving me this opportunity," Finch said in a statement. "I am excited to continue building on the progress we made this season and help this team reach its full potential."

The Timberwolves are currently in 10th place in the Western Conference with a 32-33 record. They are scheduled to play the Golden State Warriors on Tuesday night.
