Anthony Edwards Leads Minnesota To Historic Playoff Victory

Wolves Dismantle Nuggets, Force Game 7

Anthony Edwards Leads Minnesota to Historic Playoff Victory

Minneapolis, MN - Anthony Edwards erupted for 27 points as the Minnesota Timberwolves snapped their mid-series slump and delivered a resounding 86-61 victory over the Denver Nuggets in Game 6 of their Western Conference semifinal series on Friday night.

The Timberwolves' 45-point margin of victory marked the largest playoff win ever by a team facing elimination against a defending champion.

Edwards, who struggled in the previous two games, was unstoppable throughout the contest. He shot 11-of-19 from the field, including 4-of-8 from three-point range, and added 8 rebounds and 3 assists.

The Nuggets, who led the series 3-2, were stunned by the Timberwolves' intensity and execution. Nikola Jokic, the reigning MVP, was held to just 13 points and 10 rebounds, while Jamal Murray scored 14 points but shot just 5-of-17 from the field.

The Timberwolves' defense was suffocating, limiting the Nuggets to 33.3% shooting from the field and forcing 16 turnovers.

The victory sent the series to a deciding Game 7, which will be played in Denver on Sunday night. The Nuggets will need to find a way to slow down Edwards and limit their turnovers if they want to advance to the Western Conference Finals.
