Bayern Munich suffered a shock 3-2 defeat at home to Hoffenheim on Saturday, as Andrej Kramaric scored a hat-trick to seal the victory for the visitors. The result leaves Bayern four points clear at the top of the Bundesliga table, but it is a major blow to their hopes of winning a record-extending 11th consecutive title.
Hoffenheim took the lead in the 18th minute when Kramaric converted a penalty after Dayot Upamecano had fouled Ihlas Bebou. Bayern equalised just four minutes later through Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting, but Kramaric restored Hoffenheim's lead in the 32nd minute with a fine solo goal.
Bayern pushed for an equaliser in the second half, but they were caught on the break by Hoffenheim in the 79th minute when Kramaric completed his hat-trick. Choupo-Moting pulled a goal back for Bayern in the 84th minute, but it was too little, too late as Hoffenheim held on for a famous victory.
The result is a major setback for Bayern, who are now just four points clear of Borussia Dortmund at the top of the table. Hoffenheim, meanwhile, move up to seventh place with the win.
